Sweet as Honey

I love all things sweet and honey is always on the list.  I love the look of all things bees, too, but often struggle with how to incorporate those bzzzing creatures onto a card.  This one just kinda popped up on my feed last Sunday.  It was a suncatcher for sale on Facebook Marketplace.  I don't even do Marketplace...it's just not my thing.  But alas it was there with another ad for a swear jar...yes I have an idea with that one too. So like all good artist I took a mental screenshot and the wheels started turning.

I had all the things in my stash on hand, it was just a matter of pulling them together and finding the time to put them together.
Diecutting took the longest as I had one die cut and well one at a time can take forever. I did pull out my Sizzix Sidekick and it went a lot faster.  Granted if I'd have bought the Tim Holtz nested hexagons it would have gone 5 times faster, but I can't justify buying them when I have the stack of Nested Hexagons from Wallflower.
I do love how this one turned out. The pictures and video just don't do those sparkly hexes justice. It's so much prettier in real life.  And those bees from Honey Bee Stamps are perfect.

And what's even better is a bonus card from all those extra die-cut pieces.  I was cleaning up and thought there should be enough for a clean and simple card.  Normally I would have backed them with the stamps and moved on to my next card, but I'm trying to get better about finishing all the things.  So I did just that.  This one came together super fast and probably took more time figuring out where and what the sentiment was going to be and coloring the stamped image. I resisted the urge to add more bling and just let the glitter and dimension steal the show on both of these.
